UNS – Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta explored cooperation with PT. Indra Eramulti Logam Industri (PT IMLI). This collaboration was related to research and student internships.
This was as conveyed by the Interim Vice Dean of Academic, Research and Student Affairs FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Fitria Rahmawati, S.Si, M.Sc. in the Senate Meeting Room when welcoming the arrival of the group from PT IMLI on Monday (5/6/2023).
“We hope that there will be collaboration between FMIPA and PT IMLI regarding research and student internships. At FMIPA UNS there are many research groups, I think some of them could work together with PT IMLI,” Prof. Fitria said.
Apart from cooperation in the field of research, FMIPA also hopes to establish cooperation related to student internships. There are two apprenticeship schemes, namely the regular apprenticeship and the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) apprentice where the usual apprenticeship lasts one or two months while the MBKM apprenticeship is six months.
Responding to this, PT. IMLI is very open to collaborating with educational institutions, in this case FMIPA UNS. This was conveyed by Surya Widada as the General Manager of MMNR Group PT. IMLI.
“We, in the industrial world, are practitioners with the courage to trial and error so it is hoped that collaboration with the field of education will reduce production errors. Then it becomes more effective and efficient. We will be greatly helped by this collaboration,” Surya Widada explained.
For internships, PT IMLI is also open to accepting students. PT IMLI would guide and provide good feedback. Students will be introduced to the work field, where there are significant differences between the work and education fields. Every activity or action at work has consequences and responsibilities that must be carried out. Humas UNS
