UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta received the Pastika Upakara Winarya Prasiddha Award from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Thursday (8/6/2023). This award was given to UNS as a tertiary institution that establishes policies and implements smoking-free areas on campus.
The award was given by the Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Dante Saksono Harbuwoni. The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., directly received the award given in commemoration of World No Tobacco Day. On behalf of UNS, he was grateful for this award.
“A healthy campus has the characteristics of a zero-tolerance area where there are areas without smoking, alcohol, drugs, or gambling in the UNS area,” Prof. Jamal said on Thursday (8/6/2023).
The commemoration of World No Tobacco Day this year carried the theme “Kita Butuh Makanan Bukan Rokok” (We Need Food, Not Cigarettes). This is expected to increase public awareness of the importance of nutritious food when compared to cigarettes.
The highlight of the commemoration of World No Tobacco Day this time was also attended by many parties, namely the Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, UNICEF, WHO, Regents, Mayors, Rectors, and the Heads of Provincial Health Offices, Districts or Cities in Indonesia. Humas UNS
