UNS — Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) DPR RI visited Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. This is the institution’s first visit UNS to conduct BKSAP Day, an event to Socialize Parlementary Diplomation under the theme of Building Synergy and Collaboration to Optimize Surakarta City’s Potential. The event was held offline in UNS Inn Solo on Thursday (8/4/2021).
BKSAP Day is a vital agenda from BKSAP DPR RI. This event is a form of collaboration to introduce the concept and implementation of parliamentary diplomacy to the community that focuses on university academic members. Several DPR RI members, such as Dr. H. Fadli Zon, S.S., M,Sc, Dr. H. Mardani Ali Sera, M.Eng, and Ir. H. A Hafisz Tohir attended the event, including H. Hasani Bin Zuber, S.I.P., Arzeti Bilbina, S.E., M.A.P, and R. Wulansari or Mulan Jameela.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, and ten UNS professors attended the event, and the Vice-Rector III IAIN Surakarta, Dr. H. Syamsul Bakri, S.Ag., M.Ag who represents the Rector of IAIN. The event also invited UNS and IAIN students to improve Indonesia’s role at the international level. The socialization discussed BKSAP DPR RI’s functions, development, and achievements. As a speaker, Ir. Hafisz Tohir also explained Covid-19 impact on Indonesia’s economy and global diplomacy.
“Economic growth is Indonesia’s challenge in 2021,” Ir. Hafisz Tohir said. He invited Indonesian people to use a slogan that encourages national economic growth, Indonesia Sehat, Indonesia Kerja, and Indonesia Tumbuh (Healthy Indonesia, Working Indonesia, and Growing Indonesia).
As the host, Prof. Jamal appreciated BKSAP DPR RI visit and hoped to build synergy and open access for UNS to build collaboration with foreign institutions. Prof. Jamal also hopes that Higher Education can build and improve Indonesia’s competitiveness through its potential.
“We greatly hope to freely expose all Indonesian universities’ potentials in building and achieving welfare and improving Indonesia’s competitiveness,” Prof. Jamal said. Humas UNS
