UNS – The second day of Detikcom event started from early Wednesday (4/3/2020) in G.P.H Haryo Mataram Auditorium Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. Promoting the millennial issues, the d’youthizen event invited Raditya Dika, Tri Rismaharini, and a mysterious moderator. Attending with contemporary style, the mysterious moderator is Ganjar Pranowo, the Governor of central Java Province. More than 1.000 participants attended the event.
The rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho attended to give a welcoming speech by flicking on the habits of young people today. “Be a young people who takes a role (berperan) not the one who are overly sentimental (baperan),” stated Prof. Jamal.
This short statement ignited an interesting discussion. Raditya Dika who represented the millennials in the discussion told that his works were born from his anxiety. Raditya Dika then tried to find a way to answer his anxiety in the form of works that now much loved by the yong generation, one of which is the Kambing Jantan (Bucks) novel.
Currently, large number of young generations have potential, but they are afraid to create a work. They are afraid of other’s comments. “The best way to fight the fears is with knowledge,” Raditya Dika said.
College becomes an important process that have to be held by the young generation. In this college era, they can learn to be anything. Not just learning in the class and graduated as a bachelor, but how to interpret the college as a process to find an answer.
“During college years, you have to understand what are your purposes, because if you know what are the purposes, your college years will become a moment to find answers and to fill your need to achieve your future objective,” stated Raditya Dika
No less interesting is the mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini who attended and gave new color from different point of view. As the leader of a city, Tri Rismaharini experienced several ups and down in running her government. One thing that is interesting for Tri Rismaharini, is providing support to the community to develop. Especially for the younger generation in Surabaya, East Java
Several projects are developed by youth in Surabaya, one of which is an educational electronic comic. Tri Rismaharini stated that there is one MSME initiated by local youth is developing a cattle ranching business. In this advanced era, one will help one another to make an innovation.
“Instead of competing, it is better if we are collaborating,” Tri Rismaharini told the participants.
The enthusiasm was increasingly felt when the question and answer session was opened for students who wanted to ask directly to the speakers.
