UNS– Boisterous atmosphere filled the G.P.H Haryo Mataram Auditorium Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta the Mayor of Surabaya greets thousands of UNS students on Wednesday (4/3/2020). Tri Rismaharini attended as speaker in d’Youthizen event held by detikcom in a series of detikcom Goes to Campus 2020 event. The occasion was moderated by Central Java province Governor, Ganjar Pranowo attended by thousands of UNS students. Raditya Dika also attended the event that has millennial generation as theme.
On this occasion, the Mayor of Surabaya emphasize the independence character and never give up to UNS students. Digital era made everything easy, but when it is not balanced with self-awareness it will complacent you. She also stated that as young generation, students have to be brave in taking a role. There are a lot of sectors needed by the community, currently in Surabaya, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) initiated by young generations are emerging. This shows that independence and being independence from parents are the main key.
“Because everything is available, parents provide all (they) need so that children are spoiled and give up easily. In the past, to get something (we) had to fight and struggle,” Risma stated.
The mayor of Surabaya was very enthusiastic and happy when delivering the matters that the young generation needs in the nillenial era.
“I want to keep giving supports to the young generation to take a role in any field because the only way to win the battle is by fighting. Especially the young people now who have to compete with people globally so that they have to be strong and not giving up easily,” the mayor concluded. Humas UNS
