UNS — Proud achievement is accomplished by Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students. The two UNS students won 2nd position in Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month Poster Competition held by Occupational Safety and Health Month Poster Competition Student Association (KMK3) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes).
The competition was held online. UNS Team consists of Yokanang Chandra Arfiansyah from the Natural Science Education Program class of 2018, and Okisa Putri Nur Fathonah from K3 Program UNS class of 2018 introduced a poster on Gerakan Cegah Penularan Covid-19 di Tempat Kerja (Gercep-19) (Mission to Prevent Covid-19 Transmission in Workplace). Their poster includes information on Covid-19 prevention with an education that contains six components, body temperature check, washing hands, using self-protective equipment, physical distancing, avoid touching, and ethics for coughing and sneezing.
The K3 month KMK3 Unnes lasted from Friday (8/1/2021) to Sunday (31/1/2021). When contacting by uns.ac.id team, Okisa admitted that they are delighted and grateful for this achievement. “Delighted and grateful for winning this competition,” Okisa said on Tuesday (2/2/2021).
Their participation in the competition is to provide innovation and alternative means to educate people on the importance of applying health protocol amid the pandemic for workers. “We realized that the pandemic also affects workers, we want to deliver innovation and alternative means to share the importance of applying health protocol anywhere, especially for workers. We delivered this innovation and alternative through this competition,” Okisa said.
Okisa and Yokanang spent a week developing their ideas. Despite winning 2nd place, they said that they were running out of time to submit their work. They hope that they can develop their ideas further and affect wider community with their achievement in the future. They also hope that they can improve their accomplishment in future competitions.
