UNS – Three students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) won the 2nd winner in the National Scientific Papers (LKTIN) Competition Agritech Exhibition organized by the Student Association of Agriculture Technology, Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar on Sunday (5/7/2020). The three students are Davena Salsabilla from History Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Arifin Septiyanto from Natural Science Education FKIP, and Nor Isnaeni Dwi Arist from Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture (FP).
The competition was held through the online system since February 2020, starting with the submission of works, finalist presentations, to the announcement of the winner. The three finally get the 2nd winner under the Food Science and Technology category. The team leader, Davena Salsabilla, reveals that they are extremely happy for winning the 2nd place. “Alhamdulillah, we are really happy and proud of being able to bring the good name of the campus on the national scene through work. Of course, this will become an inspiration for us to progress in a better direction. We realize that this result is not only because of our effort but also support from various parties such as friends, lecturers, supervisors, and many other parties we loved, who always supporting and praying for us,” she reveals to uns.ac.id on Tuesday (7/7/2020).
The idea they propose on this competition is related to Delgurt (Soy Yogurt): New Yogurt Innovation Fortified with Parijoto Local Fruit, Based on the Penta Helix Collaboration in Colo Village Kudus District.
“We propose an innovation on new yogurt produced from soy milk, whose benefits are not inferior to cow’s milk. This is fortified with Parijoto local fruit, developed under a Penta Helix based collaboration that involves academics, businessman, community, government, and media (ABCGM),” she explains.
Davena also reveals that the preparation made is only a few days, where the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic becomes the main challenge, thus they have to do the entire preparation through WhatsApp. “We hope that the future can be better and for our fellow students to not discouraged in achieving their goals. Good effort is always accompanied by prayer too. Lastly, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, we must continue to do useful things such as taking part in competitions, webinars, or other activities to stay productive.
