Karisma Evi Tiarani, UNS Student to Compete in Tokyo Paralympic 2020

UNS — The Tokyo Paralympic 2020 has started on 24 August 2021. In the global sports championship for athletes with physical disabilities, Indonesia sends 23 athletes in seven sports competitions. Karisma Evi Tiarani, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta student is among these athletes, and will compete in T42 100 meters.

Karisma Evi Tiarani is a UNS student from the Communication Science Program Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) 2021. Various preparations have been taken to face the Paralympic.

“The preparation was enough; we had a centered national training (Pelatnas) for around one year,” Evi explained to uns.ac.id, Friday (27/8/2021).

As reported in tempo.co, Evi could not try the track that she will use in the Olympic Stadium. Currently, she is training in the Yoyogi Stadium training venue.

“Hopefully, before the real match, (I) could try the track that will be used. Now, my training track is the same as the track I used back in Indonesia,” she said.

The 2019 women’s 100-meter athletics world champion hopes to perform optimally in her first Paralympics event.

“I hope that I could give the best for Indonesia and could break my personal record,” Evi hoped.

The athlete from Boyolali is scheduled to compete on 4 September 2021 in Olympic Stadium.

“Imperfection is the perfection of a human being because there is no human that perfect. Do not use your drawbacks to hinder you from achieving your dream,” Evi concluded. Humas UNS
