UNS – The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta was among the many participants at the Indonesia Research & Innovation Expo (InaRi Expo) 2024. The event took place at the Innovation Convention Center (ICC) of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in Cibinong, Bogor, from August 8-11, 2024.
This year, LPPM UNS showcased several innovative products developed by UNS researchers, including the immersive applications Virtual Reality Anima Safari (Zoo Exploration) and VR Maritopia (Underwater Exploration) from the D3 Informatics Engineering program at the Vocational School (SV) UNS, developed by Taufiqurrakhman Nur Hidayat, S.Kom., M.Cs. CPro. Additionally, the UNS IV ICU Ventilator, a respiratory aid specifically designed for use in intensive care units, was developed by Ahmad Marzuki, S.Si., Ph.D. “This ventilator is used to support patients who require respiratory assistance, especially in critical situations like Covid-19,” Ahmad Marzuki said.
Other featured products included Nila Prabha, a natural blue dye powder derived from the Indigofera longeracemosa plant, developed by Dr. Muzzazinah, M.Si. The Expo also showcased batik with the HEBAT concept (heritage, ecology, batik, agriculture, and tourism), designed by Prof. Dr. Izza Mafruhah, S.E., M.Si., to capture the unique characteristics of a region in terms of historical heritage, ecology, batik, agriculture, and tourism. Additional exhibits included beauty products from the UNS Pharmacy study program, developed by Dr. apt. Dinar Sari Cahyaningrum W, S.Farm., M.Si., and chocolate products from the UNS Food Science and Technology study program, developed by Dr. Dimas Rahadian Aji Muhammad, S.T.P., M.Sc.



The Chairman of BRIN, Laksana Tri Handoko, expressed hope that this exhibition would foster more partnerships and collaborations among researchers, which could lead to a brighter future for Indonesia through innovative works and national achievements.
“InaRi Expo 2024 is a crucial moment to showcase the potential, capacity, and capabilities of the research community, as well as research and innovation activities in Indonesia. It represents the spirit of cooperation and hard work, leading Indonesia toward a brighter and more competitive future,” he said.
InaRi Expo is an annual event organized by BRIN as part of the celebration of the 29th National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas), celebrated every August 10. This year’s Expo, themed “Research and Innovation for a Better Future,” aimed to promote collaboration in innovation, technology exchange, ideas, and experiences, and to initiate the commercialization process of research and innovation products.
