UNS – The Agricultural Extension and Communication Study Program (PKP) of the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) collaborated with the Dahuni Foundation to organize a workshop titled “Opening the Doors to Success: Essay Writing and Scholarship Interview Preparation” on Wednesday (14/8/2024). The workshop featured Mr. Taco Franssen and Riyani Indriyati, the founder and co-founder of the Dahuni Foundation, as speakers.

Dr. Hanifah Ihsaniyati, the event’s Chairperson, explained that the Dahuni Foundation is an organization focused on scholarships and scholarship mentoring. Established in the Netherlands in 2012, the foundation has provided scholarship guidance and mentoring in several countries, including Indonesia.

“The workshop was attended by 30 participants, including S1 and S2 alumni and final-year students from the PKP Study Program, other FP Study Programs, and other programs outside of FP UNS,” Dr. Hanifah said.

The goal of this event was to share knowledge on essay writing and interview preparation for applying for further study scholarships, both domestically and internationally.

“The collaboration between the PKP Study Program and the Dahuni Foundation will continue with other activities such as intensive mentoring for scholarship applications (for workshop participants) and general lectures on career development topics,” Dr. Hanifah added.

The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Eka Handayanta, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, Research, and Student Affairs of FP UNS, and was attended by PKP Study Program lecturers and invited guests. The workshop’s first session focused on essay writing for scholarships, while the second session was dedicated to interview preparation. Participants were asked to indicate their preferred countries and universities for S2 or S3 studies, whether in Indonesia or abroad.
