UNS — The community services team of Early Childhood Education Program (PG-PAUD) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta assists Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers in Gugus Matahari, Colomadu Sub-District, Karanganyar District to conduct Classroom Action Research (PTK).
Ruli Hafidah, S. Pd., M.Hum., acted as Team Leader and Muh. Munif Syamsuddin, S. PdI., M. A., Adriani Rahma Pudyaningtyas, S. Psi., M. A., Nurul Kusuma Dewi, S. Pd., M. Pd., Novita Eka Nurjanah, M. Pd., and Vera Sholeha, S.Pd., M. Pd., as team members. To uns.ac.id team, Ruli Hafidah, S.Pd., M.Hum stated that this community service is necessary because teachers have low interest in research and the scientific publication, which could accomplish teacher’s teaching activities. Research and scientific publication are also a means to improve knowledge for teacher and their communities.
Through the assistance, Ruli Hafidah, S.Pd., M.Hum., hoped that they could improve teacher’s interest, comprehension, and professionalism, in research and publishing their works. “And hopefully it could become a contribution for Indonesian’s education. Even though we are in the pandemic, but our spirit of improving the quality of our education should continue to bloom,” she said on Tuesday (13/7/2021).
Initial Workshop
The first assistance stage was conducted through online training on Saturday (26/6/2021) through the Zoom Cloud Meetings. Nurul Kusuma Dewi, S.Pd., M.Pd., a team member, delivered materials on the basic principles of PTK, preparing PTK proposal and research instruments. She explained that PTK is research conducted in the classroom in the form of particular actions implemented by teachers.
“This research aims to improve the teaching and learning process and to improve learning outcomes,” she explained.
The training will be followed by a series of other events such as the assistance to prepare PTK research framework and proposal, article preparation, the publication process, review process, and evaluation that will be implemented with partners institution on community services and sustainability.
