Prof. Jamal in KKN UNS Student Finale: KKN Promotes Strength and Tolerance in Students

UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho conducted a symbolic ceremony to mark the end of the January – February 2021 Student Community Service Program (KKN). The ceremony that was held online and offline in Donohudan Village Hall, Ngemplak Subdistrict, Boyolali District, on Wednesday (24/2/2021) also serves as a call home for 1,444 students who have participated in the program.

In his remark, Prof. Jamal hopes that the program has educated and uplifted the community to adapt amid the pandemic. He added that this round KKN program’s limitation did not reduce students’ creativity and efforts to perform their honorable duty in the community. “I believe that with your belief and intellectual abilities, you can implement your prepared programs with the local community,” Prof. Jamal stated.

The Rector also stated that KKN builds strong and tolerant students. Student services for the community prove that their knowledge is not in vain and can benefit the community. According to Prof. Jamal, these students also inspire and taught people to aim to be a better version of themselves. He added that the students should remember that the value of a service is assessed through how far it is implemented and its benefits for people.

“If you can dream it, you can do it,” Prof. Jamal said.

Concluding his remark, Prof. Jamal delivered gratitude to the Minister of Rural, Development of Underdeveloped Regions and Transmigration, Drs. Abdul Halim Iskandar, M.Pd.; all local government who have granted permission and facilities for implementing KKN UNS. Prof. Jamal also thanked the Chief of Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) UNS, teams, and all Field Supervisors (DPL) who have assisted and accompanied UNS students in their services.
