UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta student goes to the National Excellent Student Selection (Pilmapres) 2021 for the diploma program. Mitta Dwi Cahyani, Diploma Program (D4) in Midwifery Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS Batch 2018. After passing through various stages, she maintained her senior achievement in SV National Pilmapres 2020.
Pilmapres is a prestigious competition among universities in Indonesia. Thousands of students representing their universities are selected to determine the finalist who could continue to the national level.
Mitta discussed the breast cancer detection tool and admitted that she is grateful when announced to passed as a finalist. Her instrument is named Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy Robot (FINAR 1.0)
“I am very grateful, did not expect to pass,” Mitta said on Wednesday (1/9/2021).
FINAR 1.0 aims to detect cancer mass and could reduce the number of death due to breast cancer in Indonesia. Indonesia has a high prevalence of death caused by breast cancer, with 17/100.000.
“Actually, there is an early breast cancer detection method using sadari (self-breast examination) in front of the mirror. However, this method is often ignored so that most of the women knew they have breast cancer in a later stadium. Therefore, I found an idea for an innovation that could provide a solution to detect breast cancer quickly and precisely,” she explained.
The finalist also said that she had preparation in facing the National Pilmapres, such as learning the issues in the community. “This is my preparation for speech in the final round, and I trained my public speaking in the forum group discussion with other finalists,” she explained.
Mitta hoped that she could bring home pride for UNS in the National Pilmapres 2021. “To all UNS academic members, please pray for me so I could go through the final smoothly,” Mitta concluded. Humas UNS
