UNS — The Center for Science and Technology Excellence of Higher Education (Pusat Unggulan Iptek Perguruan Tinggi – PUI PT) Center for Fintech and Banking Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS Fintech Center) held the 2020 Research Day on 26 November 2020. This event was disseminating several research findings conducted by a team of researchers in this Center for Excellence during 2020, including the description of the roadmap that includes the research, innovation, and education conducted by PUI PT UNS Fintech Center.
The event was opened with a remark from the Coordinator for Performance Assessment Directorate of Institutional Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti), Nining Setyowati, followed by a remark from the Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan. In his remark, Prof. Sajidan stated that the PUI PT UNS Fintech Center is expected to provide more significant contribution through research, education, and innovation and develop a synergy with the authority and financial service industry. This center for excellence is also expected to become a motor in achieving UNS international reputation.
In describing the profile of the center, the achievements, and roadmap for PUI PT UNS Fintech Center, the Chief of PUI PT UNS Fintech Center, Irwan Trinugroho, Ph.D stated that the number of scientific publication in the Scopus indexed journal from Center for Fintech and Banking UNS researchers in 2020 reached 26 papers. This publication exceeded the target set by the Directorate of Institutional Ditjen DIKTI of 15 articles. Further, he stated that these papers were published in Q1 and Q2 tier journals from top publishers.
“These papers are the result of research conducted independently by UNS Fintech Center researchers and through collaboration with external institutions, including regulator and financial industry and partners abroad,” Irwan stated.
Five papers were discussed in the 2020 Research Day. These papers were the result of PUI PT UNS Fintech Center researches in 2020, presented by UNS Fintech Center researchers; Prof. Doddy Setiawan, Dr. Taufiq Arifin, Dr. Tastaftiyan Risfandy, Dr. Putra Pamungkas, and Nugroho Saputro, M.Ec.Dev. After the presentation, seven invited discussants delivered their suggestions and assessments on the presented papers. The invited discussants are Dr. Iman Gunadi (Deputy Director of Bank Indonesia), Dr. Inka Yusgiantoro (Executive Director of Financial Service Authority), Dr. Herman Saheruddin (Director of Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation), Prof. Irwan Adi Ekaputra (Universitas Indonesia), Prof. Mamduh M. Hanafi (Universitas Gadjah Mada), Dr. Rayenda Khresna Brahmana (Universiti Malaysia Sarawak), and Dr. Moch. Doddy Ariefianto (BINUS University). Humas UNS
