UNS – The excitement of UNS ULTRA continued on the second day of the competition at the Kentingan Campus of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta on Sunday (11/8/2024). The second day featured two race categories: the 5K open race and the Kids Dash.
The 5K open race kicked off at 6:00 AM, while the Kid Dash started at 8:00 AM. The Cut-Off Time (COT) for the 5K race was set at 1.5 hours, while the Kids Dash had a COT of 1 hour for a 1.5 km distance. Podium placements were awarded to the top five male and female finishers in both the 5K and Kids Dash categories.
Adding to the excitement of UNS ULTRA Day-2, the Acting Vice Rector for General Affairs and Human Resources UNS, Prof. Dr. E. Muhtar, S.Pd., M.Si., CFrA, expressed his gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement in UNS ULTRA 2024.
“With the very successful organization of UNS ULTRA 2024 today, we hope that in the coming years, this event will become a regular national agenda. This will make UNS more recognized, stronger, and more advanced,” Prof. Muhtar said.
The Dean of the Faculty of Sports (FKOR) UNS, Prof. Dr. Sapta Kunta Purnama, M.Pd., also expressed hope that, with the high level of enthusiasm from the community, future editions of UNS ULTRA will be even better organized and attract more participants.
“UNS ULTRA can become an event that fulfills the longing for previous running events, such as the UNS 11K Open. I greatly appreciate the organizing team, and I hope activities like this will continue to grow,” Prof. Sapta stated.
The flag-off for UNS ULTRA Day-2 was conducted by the Acting Vice Rector for General Affairs and Human Resources UNS, the Director of Compliance and Risk Management of Bank Jawa Tengah (Jateng), Arif Setiawan, and the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Iwan Wisnu Anggono, S.S., M.Si.
The runners were highly enthusiastic on the second day of UNS ULTRA, as evidenced by the diverse origins of the participants and their commitment to staying until the end of the event, culminating in the podium ceremony.
