UNS — Proud news came from the Vocational School (SV) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. Two students from the Diploma Program (D3) in Agribusiness and Diploma Program (D4) in Work Health (K3) won 1st place in National Infographic Competition held in the Bimasakti Event Universitas Negeri Jember 2020 in October 2020. These students are Ahmad Imam Syafi’i from D-3 Agribusiness and Rizka Lailatul Rohmah from D-4 K3.
The online competition was managed by the Association of Geography Education Students Universitas Jember. Ahmad and Rizka won over 50 teams from 26 public and private universities in Indonesia. In the competition, they submitted an infographic on the Earth condition during the pandemic, including the increasing volume of medical wastes, decrease carbon emission, the condition of animals, and energy consumption. “We tried to connect them with the Sustainable Development Goals,” Imam explained in an interview with uns.ac.id, Monday (21/12/2020).
Initially, Imam and Rizka thought they might win the runner-up prize or even any prize. To their surprise, they managed to bring home the 1st winner title. They are satisfied and glad about their achievement. Imam hopes that this achievement can encourage them to continue competing and obtaining more achievements to bring a proud name for UNS at the national and international level. Humas UNS
