UNS — Commemorating Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta 45th Anniversary, Virtual Wayang Kulit puppet show was held on Saturday (20/3/2021). The show that took “Bimo Suci” (Holy Bima) act was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Communication with Dalang (Storyteller) Ki Ir. H. Warseno Slenk, M.Si. Drs. Supardjo Hadinagoro, M.Hum acted as the Master of Ceremony in the event that started at 19.00 Western Indonesian Time and live broadcasted through the UNS Official YouTube channel.
Attending the event was the Rector of UNS, Academic Members, Director of Information and Communication for Human Development and Culture, Drs. Wiryanta., MA., Ph.D., and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) delivered a remark on the event.
A series of events followed the virtual Wayang Kulit puppets show, such as the UNS Award ceremony to Hj. Waldjinah, UNS art creation parade, and the announcement of virtual competitions and ten nominations of Java Metric.
The virtual show aims to bring forward scientific and innovative works to achieve nation competitiveness and national development success. This objective is in line with UNS commitment, as mentioned by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, in his opening remark.
“Minangka wujudipun prasetyanipun UNS angapdi dumatheng nagari, pengetan Dies Natalis punika dados satunggalin ajang kinaryo mbentekaken tungul ning kardi ingkang ancasipun nglairaken menaka warna karya iptek ingkang inovatif ingkang tandhanipun ambyantu wujudaken daya saing bangsa lan kamajenganipun pambangunan nasional (As a form of UNS commitment to serve the country, this anniversary celebration is a means to create various information and technology innovation in achieving the nation competitiveness and national development),” Prof. Jamal stated.
The virtual Wayang Kulit Puppet show is also a form of UNS commitment to preserving national culture and tradition. Humas UNS
