UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has appointed four new professors. These four professors are Prof. Dr. Ir. Heru Irianto, M.M. from the Faculty of Agriculture (FP), Prof. Dr. Ir. Jauhari Syamsiyah. M.P. from FP, Prof. Dr. agr. Ir. Muhammad Cahyadi, S.Pt., M.Biotech. from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, and Prof. Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus, S.H., M.H. from the Faculty of Law (FH).
During a press conference held on Monday (16/10/2023), at Meeting Room 2, Dr. Prakosa building UNS, the Secretary of the UNS Academic Senate, Prof. Ir. Ari Handono Ramelan, M.Sc.(Hons), Ph.D., revealed that out of the four professors, one is only 37 years old. That is Prof. Dr. agr. Ir. Muhammad Cahyadi, S.Pt., M.Biotech. Born in Lahat, South Sumatra, March 24, 1986, he has been officially inaugurated as a professor at the age of 37 years and 6 months.
“The four professors will be inaugurated by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum. on Tuesday (17/10/2023) at the G.P.H Haryo Mataram UNS Auditorium,” Prof. Ari explained.
The first professor was Prof. Dr. Ir. Heru Irianto, M.M. Prof. Heru is a professor in the field of marketing management at FP, with his inaugural speech entitled “Expanding the Organic Rice Market to Support Domestic Consumption Growth and Triple Export Policy”. He becomes the 43rd professor of FP and the 295th professor of UNS.
The second professor was Prof. Dr. Ir. Jauhari Syamsiah, M.P. He is a professor in the field of chemistry and soil fertility at FP, with his inaugural speech entitled “Management of Soil Chemical Fertility in Supporting Sustainable Agriculture”. He becomes the 44th professor of FP and the 296th professor of UNS.
The third professor was Prof. Dr. agr. Ir. Muhammad Cahyadi, S.Pt., M.Biotech. He is a professor in the field of animal biotechnology at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, with his inaugural speech entitled “Development of Genomic Markers to Achieve Food Security from Livestock in Indonesia”. He becomes the 5th professor of the Animal Husbandry FP and the 297th professor of UNS.
The fourth professor was Prof. Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus, S.H., M.H. She is a professor in the field of constitutional law, with her inaugural speech entitled “The Construction of the Presidential Threshold as an Open Legal Policy in Indonesia”. She becomes the 12th professor of FH and the 298th professor of UNS.
“Hopefully, the inauguration of these four new professors will motivate other lecturers to become professors as well, especially given that one of them is just 37 years old. We hope this can inspire others,” Prof. Ari concluded. HUMAS UNS
