UNS — As many as 40 business proposals from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students won the funding from Start-Up Contest Digitalpreneur UNS 2020, as mentioned in the announcement letter Number 3794/UN27/KM/2020 dated 3 October 2020. These proposals have gone through the selection and product presentation in August 2020.
In an interview with uns.ac.id on Wednesday (14/10/2020), the Vice-Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo stated that this competition was initiated due to the pandemic which has a great impact on entrepreneurs. New and existing business needs a new strategy to sustain their activities which encourage them to incorporate digital technology into their business. Prof. Kuncoro also conveyed that evaluation and monitoring will be performed on the business funded by UNS. The university provided IDR 354,382,000 funds for 40 students according to their proposal and reviewer’s comment during the selection process.
“I want to encourage students to improve their creativity and innovation. Creativity brought the idea and physical products. Then how this product is brought to the community as a business so that students can generate benefits from this activity,” he expected.
One of the students who won the funding, Fitri Icha Masdhita who submitted an equity crowdfunding application to the program stated that this funding is the initial step to start everything. She also stated that she is grateful to have a solid team who are willing to put on their best efforts to create innovation, especially in a digital startup. “Our business is MOYU (Modalin Yuk) (Let’s Funds it) platform which brings together business owner and investor,” she stated. Moyu is an equity crowdfunding platform or ECF. This platform can be accessed in the app store and playstore. Moyu also accompanies business owners by conducting training on branding, marketing and other business insights.
“Moyu especially targeted business owners in Solo Raya, with a minimum age of 21 years old. We also open an opportunity to be an investor from all walks of life. Concerning brand awareness for Moyu we will develop it through Instagram account @moyu.official,” she added.
Icha hopes that Moyu can become a bridge for new business owners to get funding and business regular business assistance. Humas UNS
