UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta once again organized the Tennis Tournament titled the Chancellor’s Friendship Tennis Cup (TSR, or Tenis Sahabat Rektor, Cup) III. TSR Cup III took place at the Semi-Indoor Tennis Court of FKIP UNS Kentingan over two days on Monday (25/12/2023) and Tuesday (26/12/2023).
The Chairman of the TSR Cup III Committee, Bambang Wijanarko, stated that TSR Cup III was participated by 16 pairs of participants consisting of TSR Club, Joyful Tennis, Judicial Tennis, Sedulur Tennis, and Tennis 510 using a knockout system.
“For the implementation of the TSR Cup III tennis tournament held over two days, everything went smoothly. All participants in this tournament showed high enthusiasm and seemed to enjoy every game,” Bambang explained.
In TSR Cup III, the committee awarded prizes to the winners in the form of trophies for the top 8 and funds for the champions from 1st to 4th place. On this occasion, the UNS Rector’s pair, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., emerged as the first winner and earned a trophy and a prize of Rp2 million. Meanwhile, the pair of the Chairman of the UNS Academic Senate, Prof. Dr. Sri Sulistyowati, dr., Sp.OG(K), secured second place and earned a trophy and Rp1.5 million. The third place was achieved by the Acting Vice Rector for General Affairs and HR UNS, Prof. Dr. E. Muhtar, S.Pd., M.Si., CFrA., who took home a trophy and a prize of Rp1 million. The pair of the Dean of the UNS Graduate School, Prof. Drs. Sutarno, M.Sc., Ph.D., secured fourth place and earned a trophy and Rp1 million.
“We, the committee, congratulate the winners. Hopefully, this tournament can serve as a means to foster camaraderie among tennis clubs within the UNS community. We also express our gratitude to Bank Jateng for sponsoring this event,” he added.
