UNS — The implementation of Free Emission Day in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta on the first Friday in every month, went smoothly. This was revealed by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, after cycling around the UNS Kentingan campus titled ‘Healthy Cycling on Free Emission Day With UNS’, on Friday (4/9/2020). The Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho states that Free Emission Day is first stipulated on July 3rd, 2020. “Until now on, Alhamdulillah the implementation is smooth. All employees complying the regulation by parking the motorized vehicle at the location provided, then entering the campus by bicycle, walking, or taking the campus bus,” he explains.
The UNS Free Emission Day on last Friday is started by the Rector and his staff by cycling around the campus area, starting from the Home Office of the UNS Rector and finished at the Faculty of Medical Science (FK). “This activity is attended by the RKPU members and UNS Dharma Wanita Administrators. While cycling, we stopped by every faculty to finish at FK UNS, and indeed we adhere to the health protocols,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono who becomes the host for ‘ Healthy Cycling on Free Emission Day With UNS’ wishes that the cycling activities can be carried out routinely in order to reduce air pollution. “This activity is good for lungs’ and heart health, thus it needs to be done continuously. Cycling for once a month can reduce air pollution in UNS,” explains Prof. Reviono. Humas UNS
