UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta develop a partnership with PT. Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (PT. KCIC). This partnership is aimed to support the implementation of research, education, and development of Human Resources. The partnership is marked with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding performed directly by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan and President Director PT. KCIC, Chandra Dwiputra in Meeting Room 2 dr. Prakosa Building UNS, Monday (28/9/2020).
In his remark, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho conveyed that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is a form of UNS supports on the development plan from the government. Further, the benefit of this partnership is to open opportunities for students to gain knowledge from the partnership.
“In line with the dream of our ministry to apply the Kampus Merdeka (Independent Campus) and Merdeka Belajar (Independent Learning) policy, this place can provide opportunities for our students to have an internship, research, and other activities in PT. KCIC,” Prof. Jamal explained.
Further, Prof. Jamal also invited the leaders in faculties to utilize this opportunity. Various disciplines can contribute and enter the partnership to gain knowledge directly from the field. The President Director of PT. KCIC, Chandra Dwiputra also conveyed that this project is implemented as a learning process for Indonesia. With an expectation that Indonesia can be independent in constructing its facilities and infrastructures in the future. KCIC is implemented according to the President Decree (Perpres) No.107 of 2015.
“The government granted a great trust to KCIC to realize the national strategic project to operate the first express train in Indonesia and Southeast Asia,” Chandra added.
Chandra continued by stating that currently, the development of the project has reached 60%. Supports and commitments from various parties are needed to achieve the express train project with Jakarta-Bandung route. He openly welcomes everyone who wants to learn in the project. Humas UNS
