UNS – University of Sebelas Maret (UNS) teamed up with Indonesia National Paralympic Committee (NPC). The signatory of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding education, research, and training is conducted in G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium on Tuesday (11/19/2019).
This MOU is signed officially by UNS Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs, Prof. Dr.rer.nat Sajidan, M.Si and the president of NPC, Senny Marbun, who domiciles at Ir. Sutami Street No. 86, Jebres, Surakarta.
“This MOU covers several aspects such as implementation in education, research and training, community service, human resource development, and other programs signed by both parties,” explained by Prof. Sajidan.
Hopefully, this cooperation is able to synergize the potential resource of both parties to develop the implementation of Three Pillars of University covering education, research development, and community service. Moreover, it aims to optimize the resoirce and quality had by both parties in implementing the duties and functions based on their authorities.
UNS highly appreciated the world champion and world record breaker and positively greeted them to study at UNS. Through this MOU, UNS and Indonesia NPC can develop human resources especially the athletes winning in ASEAN Para Games. In the future, the Faculty of Sports (FKOR) of UNS to actively participate in scoring outstanding athletes in international competitions.
“The reason for Indonesia NPC teaming up with UNS is because UNS has sports facilities which are very useful supporting the athletes of Indonesia NPC. For instance, the stadium can be used for athletic and Sports Center in FKOR for fitness. UNS will always improve the facilities and infrastructures especially the facilities for the disabilities in order to get the same services as other students. Additionally, this cooperation proves that UNS is very friendly to the disabilities,” Sajidan added.
Besides, the NPC president, Senny Marbun, stated that through the MOU the athletes are hoped to be able to improve the achievements in ASEAN Para Games in Manila later.
