PUI Javanologi UNS Conducts Coaching Clinic on Local Cultural Studies Research

UNS – Prof. Sahid Teguh Widodo, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., Head of the Center of Excellence for Science and Technology (PUI) Javanologi at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, conducted a coaching clinic in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency. He delivered a presentation on “Research Methods Based on Local Cultural Studies.” The event was held at the Auditorium of the Library of the Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Professor Kiai Haji Saifudin Zuhri (Saizu) Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency.

This event was organized by the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of UIN Saizu Purwokerto on Tuesday (20/8/2024), under the theme “Methodology of Local Cultural Studies Research.” The coaching clinic attracted 50 lecturers and researchers from UIN Saizu. In addition to Prof. Sahid, the event also featured Prof. Dr. Aksin Wijaya, M.Ag., from the Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Ponorogo.

During the session, Prof. Sahid introduced a methodological approach known as the “Javanese Methodology.” He emphasized the specific approaches and patterns used in Javanese cultural studies. This methodology is intended to serve as a foundation for exploring and preserving the deeply rooted civilization and traditions of the Javanese people within a global context.

Prof. Dr. H. Ansori, M.Ag., Head of LPPM UIN Saizu Purwokerto, expressed the hope that the lecturers and researchers at UIN Saizu would follow up on this event by developing research focused on Penginyongan culture. He highlighted that advancing local cultural studies is also an integral part of the university’s academic identity. Additionally, Prof. Suwito, Vice Rector 1 of UIN Saizu Purwokerto, emphasized the importance of enhancing researchers’ capacity to explore the cultural heritage of Penginyongan, distinguishing UIN Saizu Purwokerto in this field.

Collaboration Agreement with PKPBP LPPM UIN Saizu

PUI Javanologi UNS also signed a cooperation agreement with the Center for Penginyongan Cultural Studies and Development (PKPBP). UIN Saizu was represented by Dr. Rahman Afandi, Head of PKPBP, and Prof. Ansori and Dr. Toifur, M.Si. This partnership focuses on the development of Penginyongan culture as part of efforts to preserve and promote local cultural heritage. The collaboration aims to continuously support the growth and advancement of Indonesian cultural heritage.
