UNS – Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed educational cooperation with the Faculty of Law, Social and Political Science (FHISIP) Universitas Terbuka (UT), Thursday (9/7/2020). The signing ceremony was conducted online through Microsoft Teams application.
The Dean of FISIP UNS, Prof. Ismi Dwi Astuti Nurhaeni stated that this partnership is conclusive evidence the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNS and UT with the partnership number 56/UN27/KS/2018 and number 477/UN31.WR.4/HK.01.00/2018. The purpose of this partnership is the development of an institution by utilizing the available Human Resources in improving Human Resource competence and institutional development.
“This partnership can be implemented by providing training for the faculty member as a tutor, supervisor, promotor, co-promotor, examiner, and implementing periodic evaluation of the partnership. Additionally, both parties will provide tutors in writing textbooks, exam questions, thesis supervisor/dissertation, and supervisors for student’s practice,” Prof. Ismi explained.
Prof. Ismi explained that previously, UNS and UT have a collaboration on book review published by UT, undergraduate and master program tutors, and master program examiner. The singing of this collaboration was conducted to facilitate the planning made by both parties, to achieve sustainable partnership, and be able to formulate good operational strategies.
Prof. Ismi welcomed the collaboration between FISIP UNS and FHISIP UT and wished that in the future there will be research collaboration between the two universities. The Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan who attended the signing ceremony also conveyed his hope on the collaboration. “Hopefully, through this collaboration, both universities can perform their Higher Education Tri Dharma well. One of which is through a good research collaboration as a step to achieve a world-class university. Besides, good planning in both universities will support the university ranking in Indonesia,” Prof. Sajidan stated. The Dean of FHISIP UT, Dr. Sofjan Aripin, M.Si also appreciates the collaboration.
