UNS – The handover of position from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Rector for term of office 2015-2019, Prof. Ravik Karsidi to Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, UNS Rector for term of office 2019-2023, in G.P.H, Haryo Mataram Auditorium UNS on Monday (04/15/2019) was held solemnly.
In his speech, a Rector of UNS for period 2011-2015 and 2015-2019, Prof. Karsidi said that the new UNS Rector for period of time 2019-2023 was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Research and Higher Education (Menristekdikti) on Friday (04/12/2019) in Jakarta.
He expressed his gratitude to all fellow lecturers, colleagues, students, alumnus, and the leaders of agencies / institutions that have collaborated with UNS until now. Karsidi also apologized if his remarks, actions, or policies while carrying his duty, were unpleasant for the people and all the academic communities of UNS.
“Then, to Mr. Rector (Prof. Wiwoho), wishes for you can hold this position with full trust and blessing for all. I just entrust the continuation of an UNS long-term development program, being a World Class University,” he hope.
Meanwhile, UNS Rector for period of time 2019 – 2023, Prof. Wiwoho congratulated Prof. Karsidi who had successfully completed a mandate as the rector of UNS for two periods in a row since 2011 until 2019 with the excellent result. There were many achievements and successes that UNS has achieved during the period of leadership of Prof. Karsidi, which have led UNS becoming one of the most prestigious universities and successfully ranked in various versions. Among them are TOP 200 UniRank 4ICU, ranked 1.678 in the world, ranked 493 in Asia and ranked 8 in Indonesia by Webomatrics, also successfully ranked 401- 450 through QS-AUR version in 2018, and achived 3 stars in QS Stars Rating.
Prof. Wiwoho added that UNS under the guidance of Prof. Karsidi, UNS had also succeeded in maintaining the A grade or “Superior” institution. Also the audit records have qualified without explanatory paragraph (WTP) for nine times consecutively since 2010 to 2018. It proves that UNS has been maintaining a great college management system.
“It is undeniable that there are many records of accomplishment that have been achieved by UNS during his tenure. To Prof. Karsidi, I once again congratulate for all his brilliant achievements, keep going on to the following outstanding works. Hopefully wherever you are in charge of, Allah the One and Only will always provide convenience, smoothness, health, and success,” Prof Jamal said.
He added that he also appreciated all the Executive Leaders of UNS with the entire Head and Members of Senate, also the Rector Election Committees, who had successfully held the UNS Rector Election for period of year 2019 – 2023 well. It was an unforgettable novelty and pride that this process of UNS Rector Election has succeeded in creating a conducive and family atmosphere, and it ended with deliberation and consensus. Hopefully, this first-ever event experienced in UNS, could be a decent model for other universities.
“I hope that I, who get the trust to lead this university for the next four years, can fulfill this mandate in full blessing and always get protection and guidance by Allah the Greatest. In this very good opportunity, I don’t forget to ask for the support and cooperation of all parties, so that the entire UNS executive leaders can carry on the programs that have been initiated and launched by the forerunners.
