PTNBH: UNS Target To Enter the Best 500 Universities in the World

UNS — After designated as Public University with Legal Entity (PTN BH), the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho set a target to bring UNS into the Best 500 Universities in the world. This is conveyed by Prof. Jamal between the press conference after the stipulation of Governmental Decree (PP) Number 56 of 2020 concerning Public University with Legal Entity (PTN BH) UNS, in UNS Inn, Wednesday (11/11/2020).

“Alhamdulillah on 6th October 2020, President Jokowi has signed PP UNS PTN BH. With this status we set a target that in 2023 we will enter the Best 500 University in the world,” Prof. Jamal stated.

In front of the media partners, Prof. Jamal informed that UNS has completed the new organizational structure. Based on PP Number 56 of2020, the new Organizational Structure of UNS consists of the Trustee Council (Majelis Wali Amanat – MWA), Academic Senate (Senat Akademik – SA), university executive board, and Board of Professor.

“And, Alhamdulilah Mas Menteri (red: Minister of Education, Nadiem Makarim) has stipulated the members of MWA based on Decree No. 108.833/MPK/RHS/KP/2020 dated 10 November. And, the date is the Hari Pahlawan (red: The Hero’s Day),” Prof. Jamal stated.

As reported by uns.ac.id on Tuesday (3/11/2020), MWA UNS 2020-2023 consists of 17 members that consist of the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) RI Nadiem Makarim, the Rector, the Chief of SA, 4 representatives from the community, 7 SA members, 1 representative of alumni, 1 representative from Academic Staff, and 1 representative of students. The TNI Marshals Hadi Tjahjanto, Gunawan Sulistyo (General Director of Pegadaian), Suprayitno, and Charmaida Tjokrosuwarno, were selected as the representatives from the community. Prof. Hasan Fauzi, Prof. Istadiyanta, Prof. Tri Atmojo Kusmayadi, Prof. Mahendra Wijaya, Prof. Weidy Murtini, Prof. Yusep Muslih Purwana and Dr. Eni Lestari are selected as the representatives from SA UNS. The other MWA UNS members representing the alumni is Budi Harto, the Executive Director of PT. Hutama Karya, representing Academic Staffs is Mohammad Sholihin, S. Ag, SIP, and representing the students is Muhammad Zainal Arifin.

On this occasion, Prof. Jamal also explained the annual work plan and budget of PTN BH UNS in 2021 based on Mendikbud Decree No. 754/P/2020 concerning Key Performance Indicators of Public University and LLDIKTI. One of the Key Performance Indicators is UNS graduates, which according to the percentage set by Kemdikbud, the Rector of UNS is optimistic that UNS can meet the demand. This indicator mentioned a certain percentage of undergraduate and diploma graduates should be able to get a job, continue their study or become an entrepreneur with sufficient income. “In 2021 UNS set the percentage at 90% from the target from Kemdikbud which is 80%,” Prof. Jamal explained. Prof. Jamal also explained that there is support for UNS teachers who are studying abroad. UNS encourages those teachers to complete their study and UNS will provide funding aids is necessary.
