UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Hospital in Surakarta has once again made history by successfully performing the first 3D Ablation procedure in Solo Raya. This groundbreaking procedure took place on Saturday (January 25, 2025). A team of medical professionals led the operation, including dr. Irnizarifka, Sp.JP., Sub.Sp.Ar(K)., FIHA., FAPSC., FASCC., FHFA; dr. Ardhana Surya Aji, Sp.An-TI., from the Anesthesia Team; and in collaboration with the Arrhythmia Task Force of the Indonesian Heart Association (PP PERKI).
Advancing Healthcare Services in Solo Raya
The Director of UNS Hospital, Prof. Dr. Pamudji Utomo, dr., Sp.OT(K)., emphasized that this achievement is a strategic step in enhancing healthcare services, particularly for arrhythmia treatment. Patients do not need to worry about costs, as the procedure is covered by BPJS Kesehatan (Indonesia’s National Health Insurance) and private insurance.
dr. Nizar, as dr. Irnizarifka is commonly known, elaborated on the 3D Ablation procedure. He highlighted its advantages in speed and accuracy compared to conventional ablation methods. The continuous development of medical procedures at UNS Hospital is expected to significantly improve arrhythmia treatment.
“3D Ablation is a medical innovation that enables precise mapping of arrhythmia points, making treatment more effective and ensuring faster patient recovery. This marks a significant advancement in healthcare services in Solo Raya,” he stated.

Additionally, UNS Hospital continues to expand its catheterization laboratory, which provides treatment for coronary heart disease and arrhythmia cases.
Indonesia’s First Live-Demonstration Ablation Procedure
In July 2024, the Arrhythmia Division of UNS Hospital successfully conducted Indonesia’s first live-demonstration ablation procedure. This initiative aimed to educate doctors and nurses on arrhythmia treatment techniques. With the recent success of the 3D Ablation procedure, UNS Hospital strengthens its position as a leading referral hospital that prioritizes cutting-edge technology, particularly in Solo Raya.

The President of the Arrhythmia Task Force of PP PERKI, dr. Sunu Budhi Raharjo, Sp.JP(K)., Ph.D., FIHA., attended the procedure. He commended UNS Hospital for its innovation in advancing arrhythmia healthcare services, considering it a crucial step forward in improving healthcare in Indonesia.
