UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho opens the Training for Competency Assessor in Professional Certification Institute (LSP), on Monday (31/8/2020) at the UNS Inn, Solo. The agenda was opened by the Chair of the National Professional Certification Board (BNSP), Kunjung Masehat.
Mr. Kunjung Masehat mentioned the challenges the will be faced by the nations, among others is unemployment. One of the solutions, which currently is under preparation, is to equip students with the competencies needed by the industry needs. In line with this, Prof. Jamal states that in 2022, the students who graduated from the Vocational School (SV) UNS can at least hold a competency certification.
Meanwhile, the Chair of LSP UNS, Dr. Aniek Hindrayani, mentions that currently UNS has seven assessors and planned to add 48 more assessors in this event. This aims to increase the number of assessors in UNS. The hope is that with hard work, smart and sincere efforts, UNS can have well-certified study programs by BNSP.
“This agenda aims to certify students, thus once the students are graduated they can obtain competency certification as a value-added to their Diploma Certificate. Thus, it is not only a Diploma Certificate Companion Letter (SKPI) but a work-ready competency certification,” reveals Dr. Aniek Hindrayani to uns.ac.id.
The training will be conducted in two stages. The first stage is conducted from 31 August to 4 September 2020 with total participants of 24 people. While the second stage, with the same number of participants, will be conducted on 7-11 September 2020.
Dr. Aniek adds that within a week, the participants are not allowed to leave the UNS area. This applied to adhere to the Health Protocol delivered by the UNS Hospital Task Force in Covid-19 Handling. “Hopefully, in the future, this can be developed. Currently, there are only 20 study programs, while we have 179 study programs. Later each study program must be represented by at least one scheme to certify their respective students,” explains Dr. Aniek.
As mentioned by Dr. Aniek, there are 20 schemes proposed during the initial establishment of the LSP UNS namely, Occupational Scheme for Junior UMKM Companion Consultants, Occupational Scheme for Junior Administrative Assistant, Occupational Scheme for Building Engineering Expert, Occupational Schemes for Young Graphic Designer, Occupational Schemes for Painter, Occupational Schemes for Young Network Administrator, Occupational Schemes for Programmer, Occupational Schemes for Health and Safety Experts (K3), Occupational Schemes for Primary Accounting Technician, and many others.
