In this year’s ranking, Art & Design was placed in the 201–300 global rank and ranked 3rd nationally; Accounting & Finance was ranked 301–375 globally and 4th nationally; Law & Legal Studies reached the 351–400 global rank and 6th nationally; Agriculture & Forestry was positioned at 401–475 globally and 5th nationally; Economics & Econometrics ranked 401–450 globally and 5th nationally; while Business & Management Studies was placed at 551–600 globally and ranked 6th nationally.

The ranking, published by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, is one of the most recognized international references for evaluating the quality of higher education institutions worldwide. In this year’s edition, more than 18,300 academic programs from 1,700 universities across various countries were analyzed across 55 disciplines, reflecting the highly competitive nature of global higher education.

UNS’s achievements this year demonstrate significant progress. Among the six ranked subjects, some showed improvements in position, while others successfully maintained their standing. In addition, several fields entered the global rankings for the first time, signaling the expansion of UNS’s academic strength and international recognition.

Beyond the subject-specific rankings, UNS was also listed in two broader academic clusters—Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences & Management—both placed within the 501–550 global ranking group. This further confirms that UNS’s strengths extend beyond individual disciplines and reflect excellence across broader academic domains.

In the previous QS World University Rankings by Subject, UNS was listed in five subject areas. This year, the number increased to eight fields (six specific subjects and two broad subjects), marking a significant milestone in the university’s academic development. Of these, five subjects successfully entered the Top 500 global rankings.

Among the most notable achievements are Art & Design, Accounting & Finance, and Economics & Econometrics, all of which ranked among the top five in Indonesia.

The QS rankings are compiled using several key indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations, research productivity, and international collaboration. This means the evaluation focuses not only on teaching quality but also on the tangible contributions universities make through research and global engagement.

This accomplishment reflects UNS’s strong commitment to continuously improving educational quality, strengthening its research culture, and expanding international partnerships. Amid the increasingly competitive landscape of global higher education, this achievement proves that UNS is not only maintaining its presence but also continuing to grow and gain recognition on the world stage.

Nationally, Indonesia recorded 159 study programs from 26 universities that successfully entered this year’s rankings. UNS’s presence in this prestigious list further strengthens Indonesia’s position in the global higher education landscape.

Moving forward, UNS will continue to accelerate the development of its leading academic fields, enhance research excellence, and broaden international cooperation as part of its mission to deliver impactful and relevant higher education, both nationally and globally.
