UNS – Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Prof. Jamal Wiwoho inaugurated 11 deans of UNS who have been elected for the period 2019-2023. The inauguration was held in the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium on Friday (5/10/2019).
The 11 deans are Prof. Dr Ismi Dwi Astuti Nurhaeni as Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP), Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto, Ph.D. as Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Prof. Dr. Samanhudi as Dean of Faculty of Agriculture (FP), Dr. Reviono as Dean of Faculty of Medicine (FK), Harjana, Ph.D. as Dean of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA), Dr. Rahmanu Widayat as Dean of Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD), Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ayu Ketut Rachmi Handayani as Dean of Faculty of Law (FH), Dr. Mardiyana as Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Prof. Dr. Warto as Dean of Faculty of Cultural Science (FIB), Dr. techn. Ir. Sholihin As’ad, M.T. as Dean of Faculty of Engineering (FT) dan Dr. Sapta Kunta Purnama as Dean of Faculty of Sports (FKOR).
In the inauguration, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho said that this time, UNS already has 11 deans unlike the previous period which only had 10 deans. “Whom I have inaugurated are the team captains of 11 faculties in the UNS, and FKOR is the youngest faculty in the UNS. I hope that the 11 deans will get ready to carry the UNS from a State University with the financial management system of Public Service Board (PTN-BLU) to become a State University with Legal Entity (PTN-BH), because the challenges ahead will be even harder,” he explained.
He added that he would conduct annual assessment to evaluate the performance of the deans, whether if they had been realizing their programs to enhance the UNS’ quality or not. And one of the indicators of a high-quality university is the accreditation.
“I will evaluate the non-A-accredited departments and the deans must immediately prepare so those departments that have C or B accreditation can improve and get the A accreditation. For the departments that already have the A accreditation, should prepare immediately to obtain an international accreditation,” said Prof. Jamal.
Prof. Jamal also did not forget to express his gratitude to FEB, FT, and FMIPA which are already maintaining the international-accredited departments. He encouraged the other faculties to catch up those three faculties.
“I don’t want just the B accreditation, let alone C. There should be the A and the international accreditation,” he stated.
After the inauguration, this event was followed by the handover position from the Deans for period 2015-2019 to the inaugurated Deans for period 2019-2023. Prof. Jamal also thanked the Deans of the previous period for their contributions to develop UNS. Humas UNS/Try
